Every site already gets an automatic daily backup. Hourly backups add a copy of the site’s files and database every hour, kept on separate storage – not on the server the site runs on – so you can roll back to the hour before a bad update instead of the day before.
💡 Every restore can be undone
Before a site is rolled back, a backup of how it looks right now is taken first.
What’s in this guide
Turning it on
- Open the site’s page and go to the Backups tab.
- In the Hourly backups panel at the top, choose how many months and how to pay, then press Turn on hourly backups.
- The first hourly backup appears within a few minutes.
It is charged once for the period you choose – nothing renews by itself, and you get a reminder before it ends. The price is shown in the panel before you pay.
What is kept
Recent hours are kept as hourly restore points, older ones as daily and weekly points; the panel shows exactly how many are kept and when the next backup runs.
Rolling back or downloading
- Restore next to any restore point puts the whole site – files and database – back exactly as it was at that time. Anything added since is replaced, which is why a backup of the current state is taken first.
- Download prepares a copy you can keep.
- We e-mail you when a restore has finished.
