Questions people ask

Do I need a hosting plan?

No. Brand mentions is sold on its own and works for any brand, product or person, whether or not you host anything with us.

What counts as one check?

One listen for one name. A name on daily uses about 30 checks a month, weekly about 4.3, monthly 1. You can mix schedules however you like, and the dashboard shows what your choices will use before you commit to them.

Can I track a competitor?

Yes — any name or phrase at all.

Will I be spammed with e-mail?

No. One message a day at most, covering everything new, and you can switch it to negative mentions only or off altogether.

How is the tone decided?

Each page is scored for the language around your name and comes back as positive, neutral or negative. It is a signal, not a verdict — the sentence you were mentioned in is shown next to it so you can judge for yourself.

Should I track my brand name or my domain?

Both. People write “Acme” in one sentence and “acme.com” in another, and they turn up on different pages.

Can I get the data out?

Yes — CSV export of every mention, and a full REST API.

Can I cancel?

Nothing renews automatically. We e-mail you before it ends, and every mention we have found stays on your account whether you renew or not.
